If pizza crust can be "stuffed", so can a breadstick!  String cheese makes it easy.

Ingredients

  • 1 package Fleischmann's® Simply Homemade® Italian Herb No Knead Bread Mix
  • 6 pieces string cheese
  • Optional, pizza sauce

Directions

Prepare breadstick dough according to package directions.

Place dough on a clean, dry surface and divide into 12 equal pieces.  Cut each piece of string cheese in half lengthwise. Using your hands, roll each piece of dough into a 6 to 8-inch breadstick and then flatten.  Put a cut mozzarella stick in the center of the dough.  Fold all edges of dough over cheese. Pinch to cover cheese.  Roll again to form an even, uniform breadstick with no visible cheese.

Place breadsticks on baking sheet sprayed with cooking spray.  Cover breadsticks with a towel; place in a warm area for 45 minutes.  Dough will rise, but will not double in size.

Bake breadsticks in preheated 400°F oven for 14 to 16 minutes or until golden brown.  Let cool 10 minutes before enjoying.  Serve with pizza sauce for dipping, if desired.
