Greek yogurt makes these breadsticks extra tender.
Ingredients
- 1 package Fleischmann's® Simply Homemade® Italian Herb No Knead Bread Mix
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 container (5.3 ounces) plain Greek style yogurt (about 3/4 cup)
- 3 tablespoons butter OR margarine, melted
- 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese, optional
Directions
Combine yeast and bread mix in a large bowl; stir to combine. Heat milk and yogurt until very warm (120° to 130°F). Mixture will look curdled.
Stir with spoon until a ball forms (dough may be stiff). In same bowl, use your hands to flatten the dough, then fold in half. Continue to flatten and fold 10 to 20 times. If dough is sticky; add a sprinkle of flour.
Place dough on a clean, dry surface and divide into 12 equal pieces. Using your hands, roll each piece into a 6 to 8-inch breadstick.
Place breadsticks on baking sheet sprayed with cooking spray. Cover breadsticks with a towel; place in a warm area for 45 minutes. Dough will rise, but will not double in size.
Lightly brush all breadsticks with half of the melted butter. Bake breadsticks in preheated 400°F oven for 14 to 16 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from oven and place on wire rack. Brush with remaining melted butter and sprinkle with grated Parmesan (optional). Let cool 5 to 10 minutes before enjoying.
