Ingredients

  • 1 package Simply Homemade® Pretzel Creations™
  • 3/4 cup very warm water (120º to 130ºF)
  • 1 tablespoon Mazola® Corn Oil
  • 6 ounces white chocolate
  • 2 drops red food color
  • Mini candy-coated chocolate pieces or other small candies for garnish
  • String licorice for garnish

Directions

Combine pretzel mix and yeast in a large mixing bowl. Stir in water and oil until thoroughly combined. (Dough may be stiff; use hands if desired).

Cover dough and let rise 25 minutes in a warm, draft-free place. (Dough will not double in size.)

Place dough on a clean, dry surface and divide into 9 equal pieces. Cover with a towel to prevent dough from drying. Roll each piece into an 18-inch rope. Make a U shape with the dough; cross left end over right end; repeat crossing and bring ends slightly over bottom of pretzel to make ears. (Shape of bunny is upside down!)

Cover formed pretzels with a towel.

Preheat oven to 400°F. Spray a large baking sheet with cooking spray.

Combine 6 cups water with baking soda in a large deep saucepan until water boils (mixture will be foamy). Using a slotted spoon or spatula, dip one pretzel at a time into the boiling water allowing pretzel to slide off spoon into the water. Boil for 10 to 15 seconds, then remove the pretzel and place on baking sheet. Continue with remaining pretzels.

Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from pan and let cool on wire rack.

Once pretzels have cooled, microwave white chocolate in a shallow bowl just until melted. Dip tops of each pretzel and place on waxed paper to dry. Add red food coloring to remaining melted white chocolate and stir. Drizzle pink chocolate over ears (pretzels will be upside down). Decorate eyes and nose of bunnies with mini candy-coated chocolate pieces. Cut licorice into short pieces; place on bunny pretzels as whiskers.

Recipe note: You won't need the pretzel salt for this recipe.
