Simply homemade comfort food!

Ingredients

  • 1-1/4 cups chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup butter OR margarine
  • 1/2 cup chopped celery
  • 1 can (4 ounces) mushrooms, drained
  • 1/4 cup parsley
  • 1 tablespoon minced onion
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons sage
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black fine grind pepper
  • 6 cups day old bread cubes from a prepared Fleischmann's® Simply Homemade® No Knead Bread Mix, any flavor
  • 1 egg
  • 1 can (10-3/4 ounces) condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 3 cups cooked, chopped chicken OR turkey

Directions

Preheat oven to 325°F.

Combine broth, butter, celery, mushrooms, parsley, onions, sage, salt, and pepper in a large saucepan; simmer for 10 minutes.

Place bread cubes in a large bowl. Combine egg, soup and chicken; stir into broth mixture until smooth. Pour over bread and mix well. Place mixture in a greased 13 x 9-inch pan.  Bake for 2 hours.

 

Recipe Tip:  No leftover chicken or turkey?  Purchased rotisserie chicken can also used.
